Looking For Something Different….

I often hear “We want a location that’s different then the normal parks and beaches around here” and I Often respond with “I have just the place!” I never have anyone disappointed with Hollis Gardens as a location. Most people do not realize this park that is nestled in the center of downtown lakeland even exists. It is not your typical city run garden. The property sits right next to lake Mirror so not only do you have the backdrop of a beautiful garden, but you also have the lake to explore for your session. 

Fountains, a Lake, and so much more

A marvelous fountain sits in the center of the gardens and is a great focal piece for photographs. This fountain shows at least three different backdrops without having to move just a few feet in either direction. A koi pond sits on the other end of the gardens to allow for a more secluded area to get some pull back shots of a couple. Just a few small steps out of the park resides Lake Mirror. The wall around the lake screams something out of an old Hollywood movie and just ads to the charm of the location. You cannot forget the grotto like area on the far side of the lake. The bars and stone really add that pop to a set of images

Quiet and Calm

Some zen for your engagement session. This garden isn’t heavily populated during the week. It does however have limited hours and is closed on Mondays. We usually recommend this location for Tuesday-Thursday sessions when the park isn’t as populated. Hollis Gardens is a hot spot on the weekend for weddings and other photo sessions. While this is a pretty good size location it isn’t overly large and the popular areas of the garden are often populated by other photographers later on in the week and weekends.
