Weddings at the Davis Islands Garden Club are always one of our favorites. It’s a location where you have so much opportunity and a variety of different opportunities to truly make your event differ from any other one you saw while researching venues. The location allows for larger weddings or smaller Monday brunch weddings. 

Knowing your lighting

If you are set on having a high noon weddings be sure when seeking out photographers you see weddings with a similar backdrop as yours and the same time of day. High noon weddings on the water can be tricky to someone who doesn’t understand lighting. It also can prove difficult if your photographer doesn’t have the equipment capable of handling the challenging lighting. I always explain to couples that the water mid day is like a mirror reflecting the light. It can be super bright. 

Slipping away while guests are still eating

In circumstances where waiting a bit may prove to be more beneficial to your couples photos consider going into your cocktail hour and do a 10-15 min mini photo session outside in the better lighting while your guests are occupied with eating. You, as the couple, are eating before your guests so eat and then quickly consider going outside to get some couples image in the better lighting circumstances. you won’t regret it and it won’t be so hot especially if you had your ceremony outside. A cool down isn’t a bad thing!
