Copyright Release vs Print Release What We Include
Copyright Release Tampa Wedding Photographers Kristen Marie Photography
There seems to be some confusion due to the use of social media about copyright releases and full rights to images and since we are currently in engagement season this may be the best place to clarify it for our couples and potential couples. More and more inquiries are coming in with the question “What about full copyright release?” We do not offer a full copyright release, you may find some photographers willing to sell you full copyrights and those will come with a cost sometimes 3x their highest package amount sometimes more. Like most art forms there is a subject but ultimately the image is the art we create and because of that I will not sell full copyrights.
We provide our couples with a personal print release and honestly that really is all that you need. A personal print release with Kristen Marie Photography allows you to print your images at the location of your choosing. We do not recommend printing at certain chains because of print quality, but that is another topic. Releasing a copyright would prohibit us from using your wedding in advertising, website display, social media and other displays that helps us grow our business and limit us presenting product to other brides and grooms. Ultimately it is a potential income loss for us which is why we do not sell or give full copyright releases that and we are protective of our images. Copyrights also limit other parties from editing on top of the images we have presented to you. Again, this is an art we spend hours after your wedding perfecting your images into the final product you receive on your DVD.
We would be happy to answer any additional questions you may have about print release vs copyright release with Kristen Marie Photography so please feel free to contact us at the sites contact form. I hope this helps clarify some of the misunderstanding of copyright release and what we offer as a print release.
