Saint Petersburg Womans’ Club Classic Wedding

Details
As a photographer I love details. Couples have often put so much thought and time into the details for their wedding day that I think it gets just as much attention as everything else a wedding day entails. Including the veil in small setups like for the ring gets every piece and every item included int he photographs. The Bride picked a great starting location with The Vinoy Hotel in Saint Petersburg, Florida. With the rooms being the perfect setup to much movement with dresses and details isn’t really necessary.
Father/Daughter First Look
The bond between a father and daughter is often a strong one. Including a moment between father and daughter for a first look always leads to some pretty emotional images. I love when a couple opts for these sorts of first looks. Sometimes, it’s even more emotional then a couples first look as a brides father has known her from the second she was born and has watched her grow. It’s a great moment for families.
The Ceremony
The Saint Petersburg Womans club actually has a few great places for ceremonies. I’ve photographed many of weddings at the location over the years and couples have opted for the lawn without the water in the background as well as with the water behind the couple. Both areas make for some great photos and add a contrasting view. It’s a great all around location and suits a lot of different brides. The couple opted for the water as their backdrop and it worked out wonderfully!
Couples Photos
Next to detail shots, couples formals, are one of my most favorite parts of the day. Once we get to couples photos the stress of the day is off the couple and their love really does shine through. This is their time to connect before the party starts and some of the best images come from couples who have waited to see each other until ceremony. The Saint Petersburg woman’s club has some really unique little areas most wouldn’t think of for photo opportunities. You have the location of the bridges, the water, and we cannot forget the historic building of the club. This is a really versatile location both inside and out.
Reception
While the color palette of the location speaks to a specific decor color scheme it really is a great blank canvas. You can really make this into an even more beautiful space then it already is. Whether opting to do your sweetheart table on stage or on the dance floor or moving your dance floor to the back of the room. The couple also opted for a sparkler exit. With the amount of guests in attendance and the tight area out the back we opted for a first look on the front exit to allow guests and the couple more room to run through without anyone getting burnt.
