A Fort Desoto Engagement Session
The ultimate Land and Sea option
The Couple
I met Jarod & Faizan at a Catering by Delectibles tasting event at NOVA 535. NOVA 535 is the backdrop for their big day. The couple is super fun and into details. I love Details. They aren’t having the typical backdrop of NOVA 535, they’ve opted for a more unique presentation for their wedding and we just cannot wait for the big day. For their engagement session they wanted the unique backdrop of Fort Desoto.
The Outfits
Both grooms wanted a formal attire portion of the session and a more relaxed casual attire. The great thing about Fort Desoto Park engagement sessions is that you can have both and it not be the same backdrop. First, was the more formal attire that we did for the Land portion of the session then moved a a relaxed beach vibe for the Sea portion of the session
Land
The reason I love Fort Desoto State Park so much is because it has so many different options for photo backdrops. Because of the size of the park crowds aren’t as much of an issue as the beaches just down the road. If one area is crowded we just move to another section. The fort is a great area to start as it has plenty of coverage from the sun. Just a few short steps away is overgrowth areas to really get that beach vibe while not ruining your formal attire.
Sea
Fort Desoto State Park has two piers and lots of beach access bridges. There are just so many options within a small area. You have the same overgrown areas with beach, sand, and the bay while still looking different than the previous overgrowth areas. The waterside fort, at sunset, is stunning. In addition to the water side fort you have a beautiful rock jetty that sits next to the pier. It’s a beautiful location with so many options.
