A Detail-Focused Wedding Day at NOVA 535 | St. Petersburg Wedding Photographer
Some wedding days are remembered for grand moments, while others are remembered for the incredible details that bring a couple’s vision to life. This beautiful wedding at NOVA 535 in downtown St. Petersburg was the perfect combination of both.
As a wedding photographer, I often find myself drawn to authentic elements and personal touches, so I will admit that I’m not usually the biggest fan of faux florals. However, this wedding completely changed my perspective. Every arrangement was thoughtfully designed, beautifully crafted, and photographed just as elegantly as fresh flowers. The attention to detail throughout the entire day was simply stunning.
From the moment I arrived, there was no shortage of beautiful details to capture. The carefully curated décor transformed NOVA 535 into a romantic and inviting space. Soft textures, elegant tablescapes, candlelight, and gorgeous floral installations created a timeless atmosphere that perfectly complemented the venue’s industrial-chic character.
One of my favorite parts of photographing weddings at NOVA 535 is how versatile the venue is. The historic architecture, exposed brick, warm lighting, and unique indoor spaces provide endless opportunities for portraits and detail photographs, regardless of the weather outside.
And speaking of weather—Florida decided to remind us who’s in charge.
Rain moved in during the evening, forcing a quick adjustment to the couple’s exit plans. Instead of letting it dampen the celebration, everyone embraced the change. What was originally planned outdoors became an unforgettable indoor paper airplane exit.
Honestly, it may have been one of the most unique exits I’ve photographed.
Guests lined the space inside NOVA 535, folding paper airplanes and eagerly waiting for the newlyweds to make their grand departure. As the couple walked through, dozens of paper airplanes filled the air, creating a fun, energetic, and completely memorable moment. The laughter, excitement, and unexpected creativity made for incredible photographs and proved that sometimes the best wedding moments aren’t the ones that go exactly according to plan.
Throughout the day, it was clear how much thought and intention had gone into every detail. From the décor and floral designs to the personalized touches woven throughout the celebration, everything reflected the couple’s style and vision.
Rain may have changed a few plans, but it certainly didn’t change the joy of the day. If anything, it added another chapter to a wedding story that was already full of personality, beauty, and unforgettable moments.
Congratulations to this amazing couple, and thank you for allowing me to document such a beautiful celebration at NOVA 535. It was an honor to capture every detail, every laugh, and every paper airplane that took flight.
